Bournemouth Rugby is proud to welcome Nick Bryant as the club’s new Treasurer, joining at an exciting time as the club continues to build for the future both on and off the pitch.

Nick is no stranger to Bournemouth Rugby, having supported the club through sponsorship and community involvement. Now, he’s stepping into a leadership role that combines his passion for rugby with his professional expertise as a highly experienced accountant and business advisor.

“Straight away I said yes,” said Nick.

“It’s the kind of thing that excites me and makes me feel like I’m doing something meaningful and giving something back. I’ve been involved in sponsorship with the club for a number of years and I know there’s a real community and culture. Being able to come onboard alongside other new strategic leadership additions such as Simon Hawtrey-Coombs, Rob Bruce and Matt Bradley also made it feel like an exciting time.”

Nick brings over 15 years’ experience working with local and national firms including Azets and Inspire, before recently launching Grasp Accountants, a new subscription platform offering impartial advice, one-to-one sessions and workshops alongside accounting services. As an ambassador for Dorset Chamber of Commerce, he’s already well known in the business community for supporting local enterprise, and his new role as Treasurer further highlights his commitment to helping organisations grow.

For Nick, it’s about much more than keeping the books balanced:

“We’ve been investing heavily in the infrastructure of the club, which would only be possible due to private ownership. I’m looking to add value from a strategic financial position. With every small club, the challenge is always bringing the revenue in. Commercially we’re now proving to be very successful and in the interesting position of building a business alongside the club, which supports and allows us to grow.”

With Bournemouth Rugby working towards its ambitious five-year strategy, Nick believes the timing couldn’t be better:

“It’s an interesting, hands-on role and very supportive. It ticks all the boxes. To be part of the owners’ five-year strategy is also exciting. For all those reasons it feels like the perfect fit.”
