Huge congratulations to five of our Touch players who were called up last month for international duty with England at the European Seniors Touch Cup 2025 in Stirling, Scotland.
We’re thrilled to say that they did the club proud and came home with medals around their necks.
England’s Seniors & Masters had a phenomenal tournament, with podium finishes across all 11 teams a haul of 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze.
Well done to Mark Townsend (Men’s 45s), Richard Nienaber (Men’s 40s), Heidi Yeoman (Women’s 45s), Craig Wheeler (Men’s 55s) and Dean Bradley (Men’s 40s).
Head Coach Chris ‘Raggy’ Clarke summed it up perfectly:
“We’ve played in national tournaments for quite a while and have a strong team. We’ve grown the side and retained senior players, while attracting younger players. Five of our senior players were picked for England in their respective age categories. Off they went to Stirling in Scotland and all came back with medals!”
Chris added: “It’s a great result to bring that level of success back to our club. I love touch rugby, as it’s one of the truest forms of inclusivity in sport. Fat, thin, young, old, boy or girl – it’s a sport you can play.”
This is an incredible achievement for our players and a proud moment for the whole club.
