Injured Players Fund

Date

Bournemouth Rugby are endeavouring to establish a specialised fund aimed at providing crucial support to players who sustain injuries while actively participating in rugby under the banner of Bournemouth. Despite our players being insured through the RFU, not all injuries are comprehensively covered, leaving players unexpectedly exposed. In response to this, we are initiating the creation of a fund designed to offer assistance to our players during periods of injury.

This fund will be dedicated to alleviating the financial burden associated with injuries, covering expenses such as scans, loss of earnings, treatment, further rehabilitation, and more. By contributing to this fund, you directly contribute to the well-being of our dedicated players, acknowledging the sacrifices they make by putting their bodies on the line for the love of the game.

During the season we will have collection buckets at home games to take donations these will be on the gate and will be placed by the bar whilst the game is on and especially for the half time beers. As well as this all away games the teams will be provided scratch cards to generate cash for the fund. In special cases where funds already raised don’t meet needs of the player a fund me page could be looked into. This initiative is been run by the players.

To inaugurate this fund, we’ve launched a ‘Spot the Ball’ fundraising initiative to gather contributions. This will run until 27th November 23. We invite you to lend your support to this endeavour. Participants stand a chance to win 10% of the total funds raised by correctly identifying the spot closest to the ball. Your involvement not only adds excitement to the initiative but also directly contributes to the success of our fund, assisting injured players in their time of need. Thank you for supporting our cause!
