U11 Celebrating a Season of Achievements

Date

The U11 season has been filled with remarkable growth, exceptional performances, and outstanding dedication from our young rugby players. As we bid farewell to another successful year, it is only fitting that we recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of our award winners. These individuals have displayed remarkable skills, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the season, making their mark on the field and inspiring their teammates.

U11s Most Improved Player of the Year: Charlie Stratford

Charlie Stratford has shown remarkable progress and a growing sense of confidence throughout the season. With the support and encouragement provided by the coaching staff and his fellow teammates, Charlie has overcome challenges and embraced physical contact. This has resulted in a significant improvement in his game, particularly in patrolling the wings. Charlie’s skill and confidence in running and ball handling have become evident, making him a formidable asset to the team.

U11s Parents Player of the Year: Dylan Kelly

Dylan Kelly has left an indelible impression on both parents and opposing teams with his exceptional tackling skills. Despite being one of the smaller players in the group, Dylan’s flawless technique and fearlessness in making tackles against players of all sizes have been awe-inspiring. Not only has he received praise from all corners, including parents and even the club chairman, but Dylan’s exceptional technique and ability have garnered well-deserved recognition. We applaud Dylan for his outstanding performance and unwavering dedication to the sport.

U11s Players Player: Oliver Chislett

Oliver Chislett has been honored with the most prestigious award, the Players Player, as chosen by his teammates. Oliver’s selection is a testament to his outstanding skills, his fearlessness in engaging with the game, and his selfless support for his teammates. In addition to being an amazing friend, Oliver has demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities and has been instrumental in assisting his fellow players. His contributions on the field, including scoring impressive tries, have made his teammates immensely proud. Congratulations to Oliver for this well-deserved recognition.

U11s Player of the Season: Seb Dalton

Seb Dalton has had an extraordinary season, showcasing tremendous growth, exceptional athleticism, and unmatched speed. Seb’s increased confidence has made him a formidable opponent on the field, as his elusive running style has proven challenging for the opposition. His impressive try-scoring record and notable improvement in defense skills have caught the attention of both coaches and teammates. Despite his quiet demeanor, Seb has earned the respect of the entire group with his respectful attitude and dedication. It has been a pleasure coaching Seb, and we are immensely proud of his achievements.

As we approach the end of the season, we acknowledge that our U11 players are on the cusp of significant changes. The transition to new schools awaits them, bringing the excitement of making new friends while saying goodbye to old ones heading in different directions. Similarly, changes are occurring in rugby, as this season marks the final one where boys and girls play together. The girls in our group are undoubtedly thrilled to embark on their separate rugby journeys.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rosie Harris and Stella Andrews for their remarkable contributions to our team. Rosie, who rightfully claimed the Player of the Season award during the under-9 season, has been an integral part of our group since the under-7s. Her continuous improvements, unwavering dedication, and remarkable presence on the field have made her a force to be reckoned with. We are incredibly proud to have Rosie as part of our team.

Stella Andrews joined our group this season, and her transition from girls-only rugby in Hong Kong to our team of spirited boys was met with some uncertainty. However, Stella quickly dispelled any doubts with her confident demeanor, assertiveness, and unyielding enthusiasm for the game. As our incredible scrum half, she has made a significant impact on the team, always at the heart of the action. Stella’s seamless integration and passion for the sport have truly impressed us all.

As we bid farewell to this season, we express our gratitude to all the players, parents, coaches, and supporters who have made it a memorable journey. We look forward to the continued growth and success of our U11 players, and we eagerly anticipate the bright futures that lie ahead. Congratulations once again to all our award winners and to the entire team for a fantastic season.
