Whilst we have been able to take advantage of an exemption for disability sport during the Covid restrictions and train for some months now, the team are excited to be back to full contact practice with the lifting of restrictions. 3 hour training wearing face masks and concentrating mainly on strength and conditioning has been a challenge but we are confident this will be to our advantage for when we resume competitive matches.
So now is a good time, should any new players like to join in the fun and find out more about this exciting and growing sport. If you’re interested, or know someone who is, new players get 4 free taster sessions in order to give it a try. Contact . Please contact club secretary Sandra Jones at: wheelchair.rugby@bournemouth-rugby.co.uk or club Chair, Becky Hill at: wr.chair@bournemouth-rugby.co.uk.
The senior team’s first outing will be at the GBWR’s Big Rugby Return Big Rugby Return – Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (gbwr.org.uk) Social Festival in Portsmouth on 22nd August.
